Winter2

What a difference a tripod makes...
I finally hauled the tripod back to the studio which I've been lugging around Portland, at night,
in the snow, to take study shots.

I've only fiddled with the sky and trees since the last post, but the focus on the image is much improved.(Click image for full resolution.)

Pesky Macaws

Finally finished the rework of the parrots tonight. I'm taking new shots of the recently completed paintings in natural light tomorrow to update the website.

Show in February

I met with Susan Maasch and Matt Rosen today, and they've invited me to be part of next month's exhibit at Susan Maasch Fine Art in Portland, Maine. It's honor to show my work in the same space that usually shows established artists like William Bailey or Rackstraw Downes. I'll drop the paintings off Tuesday, and will update soon with images of the paintings being featured, as well as more information about the show.

Works in Progress

For the followers of my "works in progress" section from the portfolio site, my plan is to move it over here to the blog. I've had such a section on my site almost as soon as it was up in 1999, posting often blurry low res images of what I was working on.

I was working on these two today. For completely inventing the figures, it is going pretty fast.
